Maj. Gen. Johan Jooste is the Head of Special Projects for South African National Parks (SAN Parks). The 63-year-old ex-army general joined the organisation in 2013, and has been tasked with one of South Africa’s biggest, most immediate challenges: combatting the scourge of rhino poaching. Responsible for critical environmental asset protection in the 22 National Nature Conservation Parks in South Africa.
