Maj. Gen. Johan Jooste is the Head of Special Projects for South African National Parks (SAN Parks). The 63-year-old ex-army general joined the organisation in 2013, and has been tasked with one of South Africa’s biggest, most immediate challenges: combatting the scourge of rhino poaching. Responsible for critical environmental asset protection in the 22 National Nature Conservation Parks in South Africa.

The full spectrum of strategic, operational and tactical level planning and deployment of internal and external resources. Interaction with the multitude of private and public stakeholders – national and international.
