Gwen Franklin serves as Akashinga’s Strategic Advisor — Development and Partnerships. With over 17 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, and high-impact event production, Gwen advises the organisation’s global engagement and philanthropic strategy.

Since joining Akashinga in 2022, Gwen has developed and executed immersive donor experiences, including international delegations to the field, executive speaking engagements, and cultivation events that have strengthened global support for the organisation’s work. She also liaises with Akashinga’s global Advisory Board and plays a central role in advising on leadership gifts that drive long-term sustainability.

Prior to Akashinga, Gwen held fundraising and donor engagement roles at the Center for Reproductive Rights, the International Rescue Committee, and the American Red Cross. Her work is rooted in strategic vision, collaboration, and a deep commitment to advancing gender equity and impact through philanthropy.
