Neilesh Shelat has navigated the highest levels of U.S. foreign policy while leading in some of the world’s most challenging environments. As a former senior USG executive and National Security Council official, he has bridged policy and practice across Asia, Central/South America, the Middle East, and Africa. His approach blends strategic vision with field-tested pragmatism, aligning civilian, military, and local priorities. An adjunct faculty member at Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, he shares these lessons with the next generation of global leaders. His career began as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer on the tiny atoll of Arorae, in the Republic of Kiribati.
