True to form, your awesome Akashinga rangers have executed raids in four different locations in just the last week or so.

We’re proud to inform you that IAPF and our partners’ program LEADRanger recently conducted a special training course for seven trainees who are active rangers from Rhino Fund Uganda (RFU) and the Ugandan Wildlife Authority (UWA).

Wildlife crime and disease are major concerns—and are expected to increase. Unfortunately, we have reports indicating a rise in wildlife poisoning cases and zoonotic diseases [a disease that normally exists in animals but that can infect humans].

It feels good to do the right thing. Defending wildlife is meaningful in-and-of itself. But being able to help, empower, and make life better for our fellow humans along the way takes things to a whole new level. IAPF’s rangers agree.

Following arrests by our Akashinga wildlife rangers, three members of one of Zimbabwe’s most elusive ivory syndicates have received mandatory prison sentences!

Last night at approximately 2200 hours, IAPF’s Akashinga team in Zimbabwe’s Lower Zambezi Valley conducted a raid as part of a two-month long intelligence-led anti-poaching operation.

A team from the BBC joined IAPF’s Akashinga rangers on four anti-poaching actions in Zimbabwe’s Lower Zambezi Valley during the third week of April 2018. Four poachers were arrested and they are all currently in prison for their crimes.
